Do you agree with me that watching TV is stupid and boring?

Did you get your back up just reading that?

I wouldn’t blame you if you did.

As I wrote in this recent piece, the average American spends about 5 hours a day in front of either television or social media.

It’s a trap, if you ask me.

As I’ve written on numerous occasions, I believe the only true contributors to human happiness are:

  1. Being in motion
  2. Creating things

You may think this a bit limiting.

You may think that TV is “a great way to relax and unwind”.

I also probably have to accept that my discomfort with long screen time sessions has something to do with my ADHD brain and body (which are typically uncomfortable when not in motion).

But the truth of the matter is, I can’t wrap my head around it.

I can’t say I’ve ever gotten up from a lengthy session in front of any entertainment screen and thought, “Gee I feel better in general and better about myself after that”.

And when I look at watching TV objectively, I just can’t justify it in any way, shape, or form.

I get so many comments from people telling me they “don’t have time” for things like staying in shape and building a side business, and then they talk about all the funny things John Oliver said last night.
