Everyone has an opinion about which NFL team has the best chance of winning the 2024 Super Bowl, but sports takes are a dime a dozen.
What if there were a way to identify which 8 teams had the absolute best chance of winning the Super Bowl and actually put some numbers to it?
Well, actually, there is.
Every year, before the start of every major sports season, I crunch some numbers to come up with the percentage chance each team has of winning.

Method to sports madness
First, a note on methods.
While anyone and his grandma can make a prediction, usually there are no consequences attached to making these sometimes outlandish claims.
It’s one of the reasons humans are notoriously bad at making predictions.
Although the talking heads you see on TV have big-time incentives to be right (i.e. the appearance of expertise and credibility), they’re subject to the same human biases you and I are.
That’s why I like to embrace a market approach to sports predictions.
