This is surprisingly the most depressing day of the week (agree?)
This is kind of messed up, but recently I was trying to decide what the most depressing day and time of the week is.
My rationale was that, as a content creator who writes and makes videos about various self-improvement topics, I wanted to be able to reach people when they needed me the most.
I tried to think back to when I was struggling with issues like alcohol abuse, caffeine addiction, and work dissatisfaction.
What day and time of the week would I most likely have appreciated finding something cool or helpful?
These were the thoughts rolling around in my head as I was lying down in the dark waiting for my son to fall asleep after tucking him in.
Anyway, over the past 10 months, I’ve managed to defeat all 3 of the aforementioned personal challenges. Ergo, I do think I have something to offer.
If I remember correctly, I settled on the following:
- Alcohol: 4–5 a.m. on weekdays (I would often wake up much earlier than anticipated when I was drinking and not be able to fall asleep, setting myself up for just a tortuous day of fatigue and illness)
- Caffeine: 2–3 p.m., 12–2 a.m. (The former would be when I started getting “caffeine fritzed” … I would be so tired from lack of sleep but also drugged up and anxious from too much coffee, putting me into an almost catatonic state…
