This is the one most important food I eat every single day
Up until I quit my heavy drinking habit last summer, I was still occasionally getting ID’ed at the liquor store at age 41.
You might be wondering how, despite well over a decade of excessive alcohol consumption, I still managed to pass for 19 (which is the legal age to buy booze here).
There are a few factors that I think played into that.
First off, I have skinny guy genetics, and I think skinny people are generally thought to be younger adults.
I don’t know why that is … maybe people think we haven’t had enough time to build a lot of muscle (or fat) yet … believe me, I’ve tried both.
Secondly, I have a bit of a nerdy look on top of that, which plays into the high school/college student misconception (you can take a gander at how I look in these frickin’ Rivers Cuomo glasses over at my YouTube channel).
But really? These cashiers thought I was credibly 22 years younger than I actually was?
What can account for this?
Well, it may not be totally scientifically sound, but I have my go-to theory on this topic: the mighty blueberry.
